Delete your Clearune account in the app

You can permanently delete your account and associated data without contacting us:

  1. Sign in to Clearune.
  2. Open Account.
  3. Go to Delete account.
  4. Enter DELETE and confirm.

Before erasing the account, Clearune attempts to cancel any active subscription so that it will not renew. The deletion then removes your Clearune sign-in identity, account profile, encrypted journal records, memories, reports, analytics linked to the account, entitlements, and encrypted attachment objects from the active Service.

This action is permanent. Because journal content is encrypted and Clearune does not possess your recovery secret, deleted journal content cannot be restored.

If you cannot access your account

Contact us at and state that you want your Clearune account and personal data deleted. Contact us from the email address associated with the account where possible. We may request limited additional information to verify that you control the account before completing the request.

We normally complete a verified request without undue delay and no later than one month after receiving it, unless applicable law permits an extension. We will tell you if an extension is necessary.

Facebook Login

Removing Clearune from Apps and Websites in your Facebook settings revokes Clearune's future access to the Facebook connection, but it does not by itself delete your Clearune account or the data already associated with it. To erase that data, use the in-app deletion process above or contact us.

Clearune uses Facebook Login only to authenticate you and receive the basic account information you authorize, such as your name, email address, and provider account identifier. Clearune does not request access to your Facebook posts, messages, friends list, photos, or pages.

Limited retention after deletion

Some information may be retained only where and for as long as required by law or strictly necessary for tax, accounting, payment disputes, fraud prevention, security, or legal claims. Restricted encrypted backup copies may remain temporarily until the provider's backup cycle overwrites them; they are not restored to the active Service or used for ordinary processing.

For more information, see the Clearune Privacy Policy.
