What Clearune does
Clearune is a digital journaling web application that allows users to securely write, store, organise, and manage personal diary entries, receive optional AI reflections, and notice recurring patterns over time. Google Sign-In is optional and is used only to authenticate a Clearune account using the user’s email address, name, and profile image. Clearune does not request access to Google Drive, Gmail, Calendar, Contacts, files, or other Google Account content.

How does Google Sign-In work in Clearune?
Google Sign-In is an optional authentication method. Google confirms the user’s identity and Clearune uses the returned basic account information only to create or sign in to a Clearune account.
What Google Account data does Clearune access?
Clearune receives only the user’s email address, name, profile image, and Google account identifier. It does not request access to Google Drive, Gmail, Calendar, Contacts, files, or other Google Account content.
Is Google Sign-In required?
No. Users can create and access a Clearune account using an email address and password instead.
Can Google read my journal entries?
No. Journal entries are never shared with Google. Stored journal content is encrypted in the browser. When a user explicitly requests an AI reflection, the necessary text is processed temporarily as described in the Privacy Policy.
Can I export or delete my Clearune data?
Yes. Users can export their journal and permanently delete their account and associated data from the account settings.
